Madshot is an Indie, Side Scroller Action Roguelike / Action RogueLite Lovecraftian Horde Survival Shoot em up, a Twin Stick shooter where you are what the elder things fear!

In Madshot, your character is very mobile, granted both a double jump by default, as well as a dodge, that you can even use while in the air, granting the mobility to avoid the attacks of your many monstrous and enormous foes.
Plus, there are awesome sidearms to find within your run; an eye laser that is a giant eye, an icy spear that explodes in glacial rage when it hits a foe, a weirdly shaped throwing stick that teleports you around, even a giant bladed returning boomerang! Ever seen Krull? It’s Awesome!
Madshot is full of fun and impactful stuff like that.

The Meta Progression in Madshot is present in the form of aether, which grants upgrades on death when applied, adding more hp, knockback chance, increased pickup range, and new weapons; meaningful and meaty stuff like that.
Also, Prima Materia drops off lvl bosses, which is used to unlock different masks, which grants a different ultimate ability unleashed when fully charged; cool.
Gold is present as well, used within the run at shops to strengthen your current character.

Full Gamepad support is present in Madshot, though I found the gameplay more responsive for me with mouse and keyboard.

Note: This is the Early Access version of Madshot thus any encountered bugs or other oddness is not representative of the final product.
