Luke Walton discusses why the Warriors gave Ian Clark the 15th and last roster spot
WARRIORS PRACTICE FACILITY, OAKLAND, CA -- The Golden State Warriors announced on Saturday that combo-guard Ian Clark had made the 15-man roster.
Interim head coach Luke Walton explained how the Warriors gave their last spot to Clark.
"We didn't make it easy for him," said Walton. "He competed, got after people on defense. He proved to us that he could score the ball in quick segments."
As a reserve, especially on this talent-laden championship-defending squad, can only expect to play a few minutes per game.
"You've got to be able to come in and be ready to make plays in two or three minutes," said Walton. "We think he can help us with that."
Walton also added that the Warriors have defensive stalwarts Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston to mitigate any size disadvantages for Clark, who is a bit undersized at 6'2".
