Lukozer Retro Game Review - 434 - Frontier: Elite II - Commodore Amiga
My review of the Commodore Amiga game Frontier (AKA Elite II), written by Frontier Developments and published by GameTek in 1993. Some people have been asking for this review for almost 2 years now... so here it finally is. This extremely long video review covers the few similarities between Frontier and the original Elite, has a fairly in-depth look at the Newtonian flight model used, highlights areas where this 24 year old game makes a mockery of Elite: Dangerous, and why I am one of those people who prefers this to the original Elite game. It's not flawless, it was released with many bugs still present, the new space flight physics make combat extremely tedious when you're just starting out and you really don't want to be playing this on a standard A500... but if you are playing on a good, fast Amiga (68020 CPU or faster) and can make some progress, you'll find the game utterly absorbing...
NOTE: This is the first review video made using the OBS program. I still need to find the best settings so the audio and video isn't quite as good as I would like them to be.
