Today on Lunchtime with my Gear VR I am taking a look at the newly added Facebook integration and dynamic streaming of 360 videos. I think in some ways we all knew that eventually Facebook would find a way of integrating into Oculus Home and it looks like they have finally done just that. So what is this all about you might ask? well, here's the low down... Users can now link their Facebook profile to Oculus video to be able to see the videos your friends are sharing. These can be either traditional 2D videos or even full 360 captures. The 2D variety plays back in the cinema and the 360 types play in a full spherical interface. The user can also now like and re-share the videos right from the interface as well. I actually like this integration as it was pretty cool to be able to see what my friends and family were sharing while I was in my Gear VR without having to take it off to get a quick look. The log in is completely optional so this is not some sort of forced integration to Facebook.
