It is clear now that Covid cannot be suppressed; the world will have learn to live with it, but only with mass vaccination. Western nations are ahead in this race, but there is a major push in Asia to catch up, which will have profound macro implications for the rest of the year. Additionally, two major themes are playing out: first, a strong tech cycle marked by semiconductor chip shortage; second, China’s policy dynamic diverging from the rest of the world, with a bias toward tighter liquidity and regulation.
