Note: This is made by Mohsen Zare. You can find his MTerrain videos on his YouTube Channel. This terrain tool is made with the help of GDExtension using C++ language. Maybe GDScript is used in player control etc but Terrain Tool is made with c++.
C# and C++ can boost Godot Game Engine Games performance. This is 2024 and Godot 4.3 is coming soon. Godot 4.3 release date is not announce yet but Godot 4.3 Beta is there for testing.
Godot is like Blender 3D when compared to Unity and Unreal Engine. It will be good choice for open source game developers in future projects because of its features and capabilities. More contributors means more growth of Godot Engine.
Godot Engine 4 has now many terrain editor by the community but some are bad in performance. MTerrain which is shown in this video is very good in performance.
Guy working on this engine has spent more than 1 years to make it a mature and stable terrain editor for Godot 4.
I was using Jmonkeyengine 3.6 for a week to test whether it is a good engine if I work with it using some Java Programming concepts as I love game development and java. But I found that the Physics engine used by JME3 or Jmonkey engine is not optimized enough to make a complex large 3D projects. also it was very hard to program things just to show on screen. But I think people working with this engine should stick with it for hobby projects.
I choose Godot Game Engine 4 for two reasons for High End and Low End Devices option by just two Graphics API & rendering backend which is OpenGL and Vulkan. Now DX12 is coming with Godot 4.3 and Up.
By using Mterrain you can create godot realistic graphics and games. I love godot graphics capabilities and we can improve more with using these tools.
Godot 4.3 will have new graphics improvements and features. So, using this tool we can make open world fps and third person shooter games or survival games or exploration games.
