It took eighteen years before someone came up with a way to rig custom skinned characters to Mafia. There's actually been some skin mods before, but that used a rather janky workaround involving cutting up a character to segments and bind them to dummies.

This assumes that you have at least some knowledge of Mafia modding and 3DS Max; 'tis just a quick and dirty guide on getting your favourite character into the game instead of Tommy. I purposely did not cover the finer aspects of weight assignments and such as there are plenty of guides out there and 3DS Max is a pain to work on when it comes to rigs in my experience.

N.B.: This is a revised version of a tutorial I made earlier, as I made a mistake with the textures hence why some are complaining about white texture issues with the characters they rigged.
