The graphics in M.A.G. are of decent quality, considering the action happening on the screen at all times. I was surprised it turned out looking as good as it does TBH, due to the fact Zipper games never had incredible ground breaking graphics. They used AA in the game a bit to smooth out some edges, and the detail on some objects is not bad at all. A few textures look worse than others, but overall the graphics are just decent, being easily overshadowed by Killzone 2 or Modern Warfare 2.
The music in M.A.G. is really good, what little there is. Each time you begin a new round, get a killing spree, or the round ends, you get to hear a short but sweet hard rock song that fits the game just perfectly. There are even some vehicles in the game blaring some music as well, and I find myself hanging out near them sometimes just to listen to the cool music in the game while I kill people. M.A.G.s music is pretty rockin'
The sound effects in M.A.G. are incredible! From the bombs going off, to normal gunfire, artillery strikes, people shooting from behind you etc... it all comes across in a really sharp and clear THX with DTS quality! It's just amazing to hear. Like a full blown war going on in your living room. You won't believe your ears!
The controls in M.A.G. are pretty good IMO. It's easy to control, switch weapons, throw grenades etc... just like in Socom. It's really not much different, just in first person view now. If you liked the controls in Socom, then you should like the controls in M.A.G.
NOTE: This is the retail game, not the beta. This footage is of a 256 player battle where each team is trying to gain control over the entire battlefield. As you can see S.V.E.R. lost to Valor. So I decided to end the clip with the Valor Recruitment video. I hope you like it.
Bottom line: M.A.G. is an incredible FPS that uses tactics and work from team mates more than any other FPS on the market. If you are looking for just a casual online shooter than go for something else. M.A.G. is all about tactics and strategy. Socom fans rejoice, Zipper is here to deliver the NextGen online experience, and boy did they ever deliver!
