Rock Band 2 for PlayStation 3
20Hello, and Welcome to another sneak peek into PlayStation 3 games. This time we take a look at an awesome Music title by the talented developers at Harmonix, Rock Band 2.
In Rock Band 2, you are the star, along with your band that you create. You go across the world, rockin' out everyone in sight to get as many fans as possible, and become the biggest rock band in the world!
The graphics in Rock Band 2 are good, very colorful, and the artwork is not really bad either. It wont blow you away, but it is pretty good for the type of game it is. In my case, I hardly see whats going on in the background when I am playing, because I am concentrating on the instrument I am using.
The music in Rock Band 2 is from various artists, and IMO is good, but, I really have a lot of songs I wish were there instead of some that we get stuck with. It is nice that we can import most of our songs from the first Rock Band, and we have quite a few to download from the PSN Store to add to the collection, for an additional price of coarse.
The sound effects in Rock Band 2 are non existent really. All sound effects are replaced with music. And as you play the correct tunes, you keep the music going. So there are no real sound effects in this game, so to speak. As it does not require any.
The controls in Rock Band 2 are adjustable in the calibration menu, and should work spot on for any stereo equipment or HDTVs out there. After calibration, I had no problems playing the game. It works great.
About the video: Many people have asked for me to make videos on Multiplatform games more often. So, I decided to make one on Rock Band 2. I chose to play online with a friend, to show that the game performs perfectly on the PSN, and of coarse, to completely embarrass myself online, by being the one doing vocals. XD
My friend had no clue we were capturing a video at the time, and wishes now that I gave him some practice time. Perhaps I should have gave him some time to practice, but, I had a video to make, and no time to spare, so I said, Rock On! And we now have the video. lol ;) Sorry spoonman, I will tell ya next time. :D
Bottom line: For those of you whom have always wanted to try this type of game, or wanted to practice drums, vocals, etc.. or just want to rock out with 3 of your best friends, this is THE game to get until Rock Band 3 comes out. There are many great songs to choose from, and the game provides hours and hours of entertainment for up to 4 people, off and online.I thoroughly enjoyed the game, and I believe that you will also if you like the Guitar Hero, or Singstar type games.
This game is in 720p native, has Microphone, Guitar, and Drums support, Trophy support, and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound.
