[Mage] Daggerfall Unity [27] | Azimuthal Vectors Retold | Mages's Guild | Menevia
Welcome back to The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, a role-playing game originally made by Bethesda for the MS Dos. For this playthrough, we are using the Unity remake of the game and a lot of mods to enhance the experience. The game involves navigating the sensitive political landscape of the Illiac Bay, a region of Tamriel on the fictional planet of Nirn comprising of the countries within the bay as well as the various fragmented powers surrounding it on both High Rock and Hammerfell. We have been sent to the place on a mission by our Emperor Uriel Septim VII to investigate two curious instances, the shade of King Lysandus that roams the streets of Daggerfall at night and a letter that he sent to the Queen of Daggerfall a few years ago that never reached her. Despite being a dungeon crawler at heart, Daggerfall places a lot of emphasis upon the player's individual exploration as choosing one among the various political factions in the region as they navigate the complex mess that is the Illiac Bay. In this playthrough, we will be playing as a Spellcaster and will shift our focus towards the Mages' Guild and the Order of Arkay.
Strangeblood went to the Mages Guild in Menevia, looking to serve them. However, he did not expect an Enchanter of his status, one that is saluted, to be told to retrieve precious research notes from a prominent researcher in Chesterbrugh. But he did it nonetheless out of honour and service to The Mages's Guild.
He was then appointed the task of fetching an item of enormous magical value in the form of a bracer for it was enchanted in the most pristine manner. This bracer is needed for research for a fellow Mage, but the caveat is that no one knows where the bracer is. Only two things can help. The first is a codex found in the library of The Ruins of The Tower of Wickham. The second is a rival researcher in Tricerlath. Consulting any of the two should reveal the location of the Bracer. And indeed, it turned out to be in a dungeon called Sekadred.
Travelling to Sekadred, Strangeblood found his Clairvoyance failing him for not the first time as he had to travel through various tunnels and channels including an entire ring of teleporters before he was finally able to find the Bracer safely stashed away underwater.
He took it and teleported back to the Mages's guild, where it turned out that Strangeblood had been sent on a fool's errand and that the Bracer was, in fact, not necessary for the research. As compensation, the unimpressed mages let him keep the hard-earned object.
Here is how Strangeblood almost helped in determining the Azimuthal Vectors:
00:00 Introduction
00:54 Research Notes
05:37 Azimuthal Vectors
11:57 Sekadred
53:48 Identification and Parting Words
