A 1-credit clear of the arcade game Magical Cat Adventure [mcatadvj], played with WolfMAME 0.277. Score: 422,900. This is an odd arcade game that feels a bit rough and unfinished around the edges - for instance, the purple gems worth zero points seem like placeholders. It's a platformer with a cute mascot character, which gives more of a console vibe. The game is mostly very easy, given the generous health budget, except for the risk of falling to your death on platforming. Controls are a little stiff for precision jumps you need to make. The Japanese release includes more story, and you have the ability to fire upward, but they tightened up the time limits quite a bit. That makes it much harder to pick up the extra lives on stages 2 and 4, and even if you don't take those delicious detours you can run out of time (I came VERY close to running out of time twice on this run!)
