A 1-credit clear of the arcade game Legend of Kage [lkage], played with WolfMAME 0.276. Score: 1,177,500. A ninja game with a banging soundtrack, astoundingly floaty jumps, and cruel difficulty level. Cleared a spring level, fall level, and snowy winter level...then back to spring. LOL at the default difficulty switch being labeled "EASY"...

One of your best defenses is scrolling enemies offscreen. Once an enemy leaves the screen it's gone - until another spawns to take its place. On the forest stage, you need to run left, killing the fire-breathing monks along the way. (Ducking keeps you safe against the monks, then stab them if they get close or snipe them with a shuriken). On the water stage you need to defeat a quota of ninjas - and jumping up+left then throwing stars down+left is very effective. On the ascent stage you just to keep jumping up to the top - and jumping up+right plus throwing stars up+right is very effective. In the palace stage, you need to ascend several flights of stairs - this is one of the deadliest parts, because enemies can throw weapons (including unblockables) at you while you're on the stairs. On the top floor you face fire-breathing monks (who you can safely farm for points, for a little while) before rescuing the princess. Finally, there's a face-off against a boss. Slash early when coming in to meet the second boss. For the first and third boss - throw shurikens with the correct (or lucky?) timing?
