Finally! We're back to the main story!
After clearing out the side stories of lower difficulty areas, Fox returns to continue his campaign of revenge... I guess... for Instructor Guy against Black Inferno... or something.
The goal is to interfere with whatever it is Black Inferno is trying to accomplish. Fox deploys a deadly lance to prevent Black Inferno from displacing more civilians and creating displaced refugees. It's believed they are doing this for the purposes of clearing out forgotten Star League era armories for salvaging.
Being a defensive mission, Fox sends out the Annihilator 1X to demonstrate how small and weak Black Inferno is.
