Make a Good Mega Man Level 2 - Changeable Caverns
Well, here's the main reason why I haven't gotten any Let's Play videos up in a bit. The second Make a Good Mega Man Level contest, in which you ideally do exactly what the name would suggest, ended yesterday (February 18), and this is my entry for it. I never entered the first one because I'd only heard about it this second time around from someone else, but I thought it might be interesting and fun. I have to say, Game Maker's interface is a huge annoying pain in the butt when you're used to Lunar Magic (and I didn't even use any custom resources), but I managed. This is Changeable Caverns, an underground level based mostly around various types of moving platforms. It's probably not all that great (and it was worse earlier; this is the second draft after one round of testing), but considering it's the first Mega Man level I've ever designed, I'd like to think it's at least not terrible.
(Oh, and yes, there do seem to be a few minor bugs with the engine...as well as one bug that was bad enough that I had to outright cut a certain gimmick from the level that was originally there. I'm not sure what's up with the frameskips, but I assume it's because I used a different recorder from the one I normally use.)
