Making a Space Combat Sim in Unreal Engine: Cockpit Camera View
A quick tutorial on how to take the Flying Example project and create a flying cockpit view with a sprung camera that makes the cockpit float and helps the player feel the inertia and movement of their ship. Basically we take advantage of Unreal Engine's built in camera feature - Camera Lag on distance and rotation. By adding some lag to the camera the ship or cockpit feels more dynamic and interesting to the player. We also add Camera Lag Max Distance to keep the camera from flying out the back of the cockpit.
