
Demoing my Space Ship Movement Actor Component on Player and simple AI in Unreal Engine 4
I've completed the first iteration of my Ship Movement Actor Component. Inspired by the Third Person Movement Actor Component and Pawn Movement Components, I thought creating my own that handles space ship movement with rotations as well as impulse thrusters and throttle would be cool. The component also has a 'slide' feature that basically allows the player to pull off some maneuvers like flying in one direction but facing another. The AI ship is also using the component and just has simple timers adjusting the throttle and the Yaw turning inputs to make it patrol around.
