I've been working on a twin stick space shooter in Unreal Engine. Currently the game features the ability to grab weapon add-ons from the battle field and attach them to your ship, roving drones enemies operating on a behavior tree, and a pickup/power up system. The goal of the project was to make something 'simple' and fun in UE4 that I could actually release in a reasonable time frame.... lol. I've spent a lot of time building the underlying systems to be extendable and reusable to make adding content faster and for future reuse. One idea I've had is to theme this as part of the Embers of Empire series and put in some lore from the game. There is a backstory war that I could just turn into an arcady shooter so it might be cool. The ship designs would be less cartoony if I go that route. Currently they've been made with the great Kenney's AssetForge - https://kenney.itch.io/assetforge
