Making George Square, Glasgow in Far Cry 5! (XSX)
George Square is an impressive public space in the heart of Glasgow, Scotland and was named after King George III.
There are statues in the square dedicated to iconic Scottish figures such as Robert Burns (famous poet), James Watt (inventor of the Watt steam engine), Sir Robert Peel (considered the father of modern policing) and Sir Walter Scott (famous novelist).
A little known fact about George Square is it was here that 82 days after the end of the First World War, on 31st January 1919, striking Glasgow workers violently clashed with police. It escalated to the point the sheriff called for military assistance, leading to 6 actual tanks patrolling the streets of Glasgow until the chaos finally quelled.
