I've struggled over the beast companion ranger archetype in 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons more than any other aspect of the game. I feel like players love to play the beast companion style character whether we are talking about the ranger or the druid. Heck even barbarian benefits from a beast companion class archetype. We tackle what we see as the biggest gaming challenge with playing the ranger character class from the players handbook.
