Released in 2007, Manhunt 2 faced heavy scrutiny for its violence. While the first Manhunt was dark and twisted, it never really crossed the line of being edgy. Manhunt 2 sadly goes heavy into the edgy direction to the detriment of the game.

It pushed its focus on violence to the extreme, losing focus on the atmosphere that made the original Manhunt so special.

While it makes a number of welcome gameplay improvements, especially to stealth, Manhunt 2 falls well short of what made the first so memorable.

Compared to the first game's sparse story which worked well with what they were going for, Manhunt 2 goes for a more complex narrative that doesn't land in its execution.

While Manhunt 2 does have its moments, it falls short of what they were able to achieve with the first Manhunt. So let's look into why that was the case.
