This is the end of a failed Cheese Stands Alone attempt. When I refilled the pool I was able to bring up the New Kid menu during one of the death cutscenes, which surprised me so much that I had to backout to the main menu. When I went back in I walked toward the grate but the first graveyard cutscene triggered, though i still had control of Bernard in the background. When the cutscene ends you can see Bernard has walked all the way back to the complete opposite side of the pipe area. I go inside, the "Gee I'm Hungry" cutscene plays, and Weird Ed captures Bernard in the mid-level hallway. I skip the badge for Cheese goal, timer reaches zero for meltdown when I get caught by Purple Tentacle and the meltdown is slightly delayed til a few seconds after Bernard is put back in the dungeon. Its almost like Bernard took an extra turn after that one and lost the game at the end of that turn.
