Path of Exile 3.2: Bestiary League adds a monster hunter / pokemon element to the game where we hunt monsters all across Wraeclast. We also got an extensive overhaul of the Ascendancies and three new skill gems. This series will explore what a Juggernaut can do with the new Spectral Shield Throw skill. Because the skill is difficult to support via the skill tree, we have more skills than usual left over to bolster our defenses. On the naturally tanky Juggernaut this could prove to be pretty darn sturdy. I'll play this one in the standard version of the temporary league, but I'll be playing solo self-found (by the way). The reason is simple: I don't enjoy the trading experience in the game, so I might as well remove the expectation that I will trade.

Path of Building codes:

- Initial theorycraft (4 March 2018): https://pastebin.com/JC0sm8ac
- More bleed chance (10 March 2018): https://pastebin.com/733LYMV2
- Added Frost Bomb (for regen beasts) (22 March 2018): https://pastebin.com/01rSN2gC

*Skills*

There's a lot of blind and maim support in this build to make enemies more likely to not hit you and thus make life regen and leech more effective at keeping you alive. Frost Bomb on damage taken is there to deal with high regen red beasts.

- Body: Spectral Shield Throw + Brutality + Maim + Physical Projectile Attack Damage + Faster Attacks + Slower Projectiles
- 4-link: Cast when Damage Taken (lvl 1) + Tempest Shield (lvl 7) + Vulnerability (lvl 5) + Frost Bomb (lvl 1)
- 4-link: Cast when Damage Taken (max lvl) + Immortal Call (max lvl) + Molten Shell (max lvl) + Blood Rage (lvl 10/dex-bound)
- 4-link: Flame Golem + Ancestral Protector + Blind + Culling Strike
- Shield: Rallying Cry, Flame Dash, Vaal Lightning Trap
- Main hand (default): Shield Charge + Faster Attacks + Fortify
- Main hand (Advancing Fortress): Shield Charge + Faster Attacks + Blind
- Main hand (Ornament of the East): Shield Charge + Fortify + Blind

*Items*

A shield with as much armour as possible is the ONLY requirement for this build. SSF tip: craft a blue with %armour, regal it, then Haku craft flat armour on it.

Weapon damage is only used by Shield Charge and Ancestral Protector, so use your weapon slot for utility instead of damage. Examples include: Advancing Fortress, Ornament of the East, and Daresso's Passion.

For the rest of the gear, my usual advice applies: high armour, high life, max out elemental resists, aim for about 0 chaos res. Boots want move speed. Jewelry is for added flat physical damage, accuracy, resists and dex/int.

I record Let's Play video game series about Action RPGs and strategy games. I love simulation and programming games as well, though they play a smaller part on my channel. I'm an analytical player, so my playthrough will be filled with English commentary analyzing the game, comparing and contrasting it with others, and trying to understand the mechanics behind the game. If you are a developer, feel free to reach out if you want me to look at your game!
