Marble Madness 2 Playthrough | Unreleased Prototype | Full game
0This hidden Gem was first leaked in 2022 in fully completed form! It was first set to release in 1991 but didn’t get the green light after poor focus test results. I’m really surprised as this would have done well in the arcade.
It’s a lot harder than the original Marble Madness, and a lot longer. The music is no where near as memorable and iconic. There are a lot more irritating traps, but at least there is a lot of variety.
The difficulty is not that difficult for an arcade game but the last level is stupid. You are only allowed to have 2 attempts, no matter how many credits you put in. The second attempt gives you a ridiculously short time limit. I just couldn’t do it in one go so I had to use save states and save in parts. The game took me 30 minutes and then an hour extra for the last level. Last level ruined it for me really. And if was in the arcade, a lot of people would have been very angry, so maybe it’s non-release was for the best.
