Runners had lit up social media and Reddit with concerns that the race might not be happening in Cincinnati, after spending between $35 and $75 each to sign up for the run. News reports from Pittsburgh of that city's Margarita Madness run described a disorganized race, that the city ultimately canceled due to a lack of proper permits. Cincinnati runners worried that the same thing was happening here, since no one had heard any details a week before the run, and city officials said they knew nothing about it.
