Marie Antoinette was the last Queen of France before the French Revolution. She was born as Maria Antonia Josepha Johanna in Vienna, Austria, in 1755, and was the youngest daughter of the Holy Roman Emperor Francis I and Empress Maria Theresa.

Marie Antoinette married the future King Louis XVI of France in 1770 when she was just 14 years old, as part of a diplomatic alliance between France and Austria. Initially, she was unpopular among the French people due to her Austrian origin, extravagant spending, and perceived indifference to the struggles of the French populace. She became a symbol of the excesses and decadence of the French monarchy.

During the French Revolution, Marie Antoinette and her husband were overthrown and eventually executed by guillotine in 1793. Her life and reign have been the subject of much historical debate, and she has been portrayed in various ways, ranging from a callous and frivolous queen to a tragic figure caught in the tumult of revolutionary France.
