Mario Paint Composer - "Toss A Coin To Your Witcher"
So ever since I first heard this song by Jaskier at the end of episode 2 of The Witcher (the Netflix one), I knew this was gonna happen. Somehow I didn't think I'd get it done within the following week, but here we are.
I never realized writing a song in B♭ Minor would be this difficult, 'cause otherwise, it's a pretty simple sounding song. But MPC doesn't work in relative terms (then again, maybe no other composing program does, I wouldn't know), so like 3 out of every 4 notes is a sharp. So if you're ever looking to learn the black keys on a piano, this is probably the song for you.
I think I might have changed up a few chords here and there; even within this composition I know some of them are inconsistent, particularly the IV on "Oh valley of plenty", which I kept hearing as a minor v in my head towards the end. I had never thought of those two chords as "interchangeable" before, but heck if it doesn't kinda work.
Oh yeah, and if that voice at the end sounds a little bit familiar, well, surprise! This entire soundfont is a FF6 soundfont and I couldn't resist giving Celes/Maria a little cameo. I'm halfway tempted to make an hour long version of this with just the Celes part, 'cause the whole thing has just basically gone bananas by that point.
Had a good time with this one! Now we'll see if I still have it in me to try Ryoshima Coast from Okami someday.
