Mario Party 1 (N64) live stream *original hardware capture*
While you guys these days may play Super Mario Party or especially Mario Party Superstars, in this live stream, let's go back to the one that 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 in the Nintendo 64 in 1998, Mario Party. Yes, this game is responsible for bringing up the series that destroyed friendships (and another infamous problem)! Like Super Mario Kart in the Super NES, this game debuted a major genre and sub-series for the Mario franchise that made it so successful.
Looking back at the very first Mario Party, things sure had changed as the series progressed. In the original, the rules were a bit strict, no items of any sort, no practice during Mini-games, and there were just 6 characters. Mario Party 1 is also notorious for having certain Mini-games where you have to rotate the analog stick, which is unfortunately capable of breaking it or at least gave your hands blisters - to the point even the second game quickly changed that due to Nintendo being sued for a lot of money in damages...
Despite this, it's still a major piece of nostalgia in my childhood, as my father and I used to compete on this all the time back in the day, as with the second game. Like Mario Party 2, the original has a charm that modern titles doesn't have, like the music or presentation. Oh, and remember when Toad used to be so "powerful", unlike 5 onwards?
