The comments in the DK videos suggested that I play this, so I did. I have before but not very long. There was something about the GBA games that had a very specific "generic game creation engine" feel to them that turned me away. I think it was something to do with the DKC type ACM graphics being applied in strange ways. Maybe the resolution cheapened the approach that worked well with the SNES.

BUT, it is a good game. It's got a very steady learning curve which is always a plus, allowing you to get a full game experience on without immediately hitting a wall that says "pro only". It does suck that certain things you're used to in a Mario game can't be done...like sprinting. But there's enough of the Mario moveset in there to please and it's a really neat fusion between Mario and DK concepts. Obviously, I played it for quite a bit before setting it down and I intend to come back and finish this myself at some point.
