Mario vs. Donkey Kong (Nintendo Switch) Longplay
Hello! Welcome to this longplay of Mario vs. Donkey Kong for the Nintendo Switch. This is a remake of the Gameboy Advance game of the same name released in 2004. It's a puzzle platforming game where Mario works to return the stolen Mini Mario Toys that Donkey Kong stole. Please enjoy!

This is the point where I like to talk a little about why I like this game. As per usual if you have a story about why you like this game please leave it in the comments below. I would love to read about it. This was a game I was so excited to play and waiting for. The Mario vs. Donkey Kong series had been a franchise I have played throughout my whole life. So, it holds a nice little place in my heart. I think the first one I played was on the Nintendo DS. March of the Mini's. I got it for the holiday season I believe. I really enjoyed playing it. This game however holds a funny place in my heart. Because I wanted to record the GBA version of the game before it came out. However! Things are never as easy as you want them to be sometimes. Recording GBA footage is not super simple and there are not a million ways to do it. I try to avoid emulation when I can and I had happened to find a copy of the game and though "okay! now I just have to find a way to record it." There's a game store in my area that sells retro games and things and they had a Retron SQ for sale so I picked it up and bought it home. I was able to actually record quite a few videos with it. However there were some really weird things I noticed on some of the games I played. This one was one of them. For some reason the platforms (that are a major part of this game) they don't stay on their tracks. They actually just go off the tracks and float away. This is a major break in the game and literally makes it impossible to play. Now, I am no tech genius but I assume the Retron rips the game file from the game and plays it on the console. I had a similar error happen when I played Battletoads for the NES on my Retron 3. I think it's some kind of anti-piracy check that gets flagged and makes the game impossible to play. So I ended up buying the Gameboy Player for the GameCube. However, this is not that game. This is a remake of that game! I had so much fun playing this game and its honestly so enjoyable! They even went out of their way to make a two-player mode which is really cool looking. If you can give this game a shot I really recommend it and it even had a very charming, simple, and heart warming story too.
Thank you so very much for watching this longplay. I love making these games and most of all I love sharing them with each and everyone of you. One of my biggest hobbies is video games and video game collecting. So, I love sharing all these titles with you. Take some time to work on something you love too. No matter how big or how small. Don't live your life and leave to many things unfinished. You will regret it one day. Until we meet again. Stay safe.
