This building is the old school Tri-County Flea Market for me when growing up.
This place used to be kind of scary growing up. It was always dark inside.
Now. It's super bright!
Now I am all grown up and working inside this place and all the bums are pushed out.
It's bogue to say bums. Because the sellers and traders of yesterday... was also my family. LOL.
Trade Days.
Martinrea went really cheap on this building and did not have it built to suit. They took it as it was and decided to place a manufacturing operation in a light commercial / residential setting / building.
Martinrea had many chances of acheiving greater successes if they listened to their employees.
This factory and company and opportunity for us to work... is today DEAD.
This place didn't even last past 1 single work contract.
1 order for 2 years and it was done and closed. So sad.
I had great hope for this location as it provided modern, cleaner, higher technology working enviroment close to Detroit city limits for opportunity. The main problem is that they gave too many people green thumbed opportunity and to be involved and in positions of command and control to the operations. Brand new operation with green thumbs fresh out of college with NO EXPERIENCE whatsoever. That's why this place failed. All the corporate parents children ran this place.... right into the fucking ground!
DEAD END. SAD story folks! Everyone lost their jobs here who were promised great future.
The quote and I do not lie. Joel Altman of Shelbyville Tennessee who migrated his hick fancy country dressing self to Detroit Michigan to relocated up here in our region and get this operation going.
He's the one to really blame on all of the failure. He's the main dude on all of it. The ultimate communicator to headquarters on what really needed to be done.
He promised, "This is the Ferrari of all lines." He did not meet up on that at all and didn't even try.
When you buy equipment for your factory with 20 million dollars in robots and work cells you do not supply your quality department with Harbor Freight grade torque wrenches to log reports and keep track of your production. Weak instruments give weak readings. This leads to false readings that leads to false directions to correct issues that just makes issues even worse over time.
It was a total snowball effect we had. Rough start.. medium run and a catastrophic ending abrupt.
RIP Martinrea!
To all my co-workers I liked the most or just want to shout out because I remember your name and I think even dickheads deserve a chance to repent and remember what I said back in those days and years. I will remind you "I FUCKING TOLD YOU SO!".
In the end who was right? Fucking Chris was. As usual. LOL. You know it! I can be and choose to be arrogant. My track record is top notch accurate! Test me!

Here is the room where Quality Department has their grunts cut and rip the metal apart.
They do Push-Outs.. where you push with hundreds of pounds of force that bolt out of the steel it is welded to.

In this video this guy is cutting the steel with a plasma torch.
He gets samples together and then will have to rip them apart to see how much force it takes to separate or have the metal / steel actually tear like paper.

If where enough steel fused when ripped and torn apart does not meet specifications for safety. That part and all parts from the last known good part are all defective and quarantined. NO GOOD. XXX.
