I am not the best fighting game player but I can tell you that Capcom fighting games have some of the very best music in videogames as far as I am concerned! This song is no exception! I guess Iron Man was busy because they got War Machine for this game and his theme is so good! They remixed it for Iron Man's Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 theme but I think this one is way better. I just love the crazy synth lead at the end and the chuggy guitar riff! I'll admit I spent some time playing MvC3 but not really with this game as it was only released for PS1, Dreamcast, and arcade obviously, but I just like the song, okay!?

Boring gear stuff nobody cares about:

I have a hard time not using the Yamaha MX49 on everything lately but this one I only used it for one of the layered rhythm guitar parts and the guitar lead in the beginning. Oh, and the bass I guess, but it's not very prominent. I used the Microfreak for the saw lead solo thing at the end and hopefully my bad playing doesn't ruin the best part of the song! I used the Korg Opsix for another layered rhythm guitar part and the E Piano type sound you hear in the beginning and in the middle of the song. The synth intro is mostly the Microfreak. I used the Roland JD-Xi for some minor backing stuff like the orchestra hits (they sound so 90s!) and used the Volca Keys for the saw pads that pop in during the synth solo at the end of the song. I used the Korg NTS-1 for effects processing on all hardware synths.

I used grooove bpb for the drums along with Beatskillz Synthwave Drums sequenced in Renoise Tracker for all the drum parts.

I recorded it all "line in" and mixed in Audacity. No midi rips or piano rolls here!
