"FROM ALPHA TO OMEGA! BOW DOWN TO ME! HAAAAA!!!" "LET'S GO LET'S GO!!!"

Considered to be the worst entry in one of the most prestigious fighting game series known for an awesome track record, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite proves that questionable game design choices and bad PR decisions can disrupt the momentum and hype of any game.

In the past, I have streamed this game with some friends and talked about what was wrong with the game and what can be done to improve it in the long run. In all honesty, looking back at it, it's not a bad game. If you can get past the bad publicity, the average music, notable omissions to the lackluster roster along with some comments like how "characters are functions", then Marvel vs Capcom Infinite can be an enjoyable experience if you want to have fun with some friends.

In the game's defense, there are some positive changes from the Marvel vs Capcom 3 games. The attack control scheme return from the Light, Medium, Heavy, and Special to the LP, LK, HP, and HK scheme used in MvC2 but they improved it by making it easier to link combos. The Active Switch which replaces the assists and team aerial combos is a nice addition, but I would personally like it if the assists are kept and you can use the Switch feature at the cost of a meter. The gems also return with their effects that can change the outcome of certain matches if synergized well with certain characters, providing another layer of technicality to the game.

This playthrough feature some mods for the PC version that I used in order to enhance the experience. I'm using the graphics mod settings by Maximilian dood, some Reshade filters such as SMAA, HDR and DPR, the classic sound effects mod by 2Devastado, and music mods made by AvengerAlex, Ikprod3, Seafood Gumbo, and CallMeSugarMilk.

In all honesty, this is where the other REAL negative of the game that I haven't mentioned before on stream comes in. Game mods should be optional ways to enhance a game's experience. If a lot of mods are used while showcasing this game, it creates a conflict where while the mods can improve the game's visual and sound issues, it's not really an authentic representation of the final product especially if the actual final product is REALLY bland.

On a positive note, it's amazing how there are still people who are not only making the effort to improve the game's presentation but also how there are still people that liked to play this particular entry on private Discord servers. Yeah, it won't have as many players as MvC3 or even MvC2, but it's things like this that make me believe that perhaps one day, it will give the series a second wind and we might have another MvC game that can be considered a TRUE sequel to MvC3. Okay, maybe people playing more of Ultimate MvC3 will give the series a better chance, but can you blame me for trying to find positives of an otherwise average game?

Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy this playthrough. Rate, comment, and subscribe.
