Mashup is just what the title suggests, a compilation of different types, styles, designs and concepts, but taken to a completely other level, it isn't just a bunch of levels tacked on one after the other, with a simple transition, you could say the whole thing is done as if you were watching tv and you're switching between channels, finding something completely different each time. We begin with a slow paced section, design wise it's space themed, but not super realistic or detailed like other space levels you can find in GD, this one has a simple vibe to it, with only white dots in the background depicting stars and drawings of UFO's in front, the colors at the bottom add a nice touch, so the section doesn't feel monotone. We then go to a more modern style of level, with clean white backgrounds decorated with shapes and in the forefront, simple platforms with a dark tone, contrasted by different boxes of color, which I really liked. One detail I really liked about this whole thing is the fact that when you transition into the next part, the text for the number of attempt you're on appears, making it feel as if you started a completely different level, which takes us into the next part, a darker and creepier setting, with fog and trees filling the background, as if it were a haunted forest. The level glitches out heavily at the end of this part, and takes us into a simpler, more generic looking space, it doesn't last very long so no more to comment on this. For the next 5 seconds we find ourselves in a completely gray landscape, with shapes and different lines of color moving around, what I really liked about this part was the block design, the platforms looking almost 3D, nice touch. After this, we see a landscape, with trees and mountains, with clouds and beams of sunlight decorating the top, which could be a piece of art within itself, but before we get the chance to get a better look, it deconstructs and takes us upwards into the real section. Which seems to be space themed as well, reminiscent of the beginning of the level, with a dark background, different colored stars filling the empty spaces, I also really like the block design in this part, and the small pieces of decorations and details you can find, the lines of colors shooting out of the platforms, the pulses of light emanating from the borders, this it's just nice to look at. We then start switching between "levels" much faster, we travel through a pixel art world, with bright colors, a blue sky, vibrant grass with butterflies flying around, followed by a purple section, that I personally really liked, especially because of the wave effect that was implemented, making it feel as if you're underwater or inside a piece of jello, almost being a bit disorienting, after this, we go through a neon colored and themed section, mainly in the block design and obstacles, contrasting really nicely with the dark background. And finally, we travel through a couple of starry, glittery and colorful areas, with a slower pace, just right to end the level off. Overall, this is a level with an interesting concept executed very nicely, highly recommend you try it out.
