So what is the best ending to Mass Effect 3? Obviously this is debatable - but when people talk about the best ending to ME3, they usually mean the one where Shepard survives and you get that short clip of the N7 chestplate rising as Shepard takes a breath. For the purposes of this video, we’ll be referring to this as the best ending. In order to unlock this ending, you need to have 4000 Effective Military Strength (EMS) and choose the Destroy ending.
In order to get 8000 war assets you need to make pretty much every correct decision throughout the Mass Effect Trilogy. You also need to complete all DLC for Mass Effect 3: From Ashes, Leviathan, Omega, and Citadel.
Here is a rundown of the major decisions that I made in order to gain 8,110 war assets by the end of Mass Effect 3:
-Completed every side mission and recovered all war assets from planet scanning
-Completed all four DLC - From Ashes, Leviathan, Omega and Citadel
-Sabotaged the genophage cure - Mordin died, Eve and Wreav were alive for maximum Krogan + Salarian support
-Brokered peace between the Quarians and Geth
-Raised Citadel Defense Force with conversations and Spectre Terminal authorizations
-All squadmates survived Mass Effect 2 final mission
