Here is some video showing the build I am using right now for the Talon Mercenary Engineer (READ MORE BELOW).

At first, I wasn't even able to use this guy because of the bug where it resets keybindings to default (on PC). But thanks to Bacon4Breakfast's thread on BSN (link below), I was finally able to get it to work enough to play (kind of silly). My reload and melee key are still backwards, which is why sometimes you'll probably see me shoot the bow (when I'm actually trying to reload my gun :-)... He also has a bug right now where Ammo Packs will disappear (not be available during the game, at all), Bacon told me to skip one of the arrow powers in the build to avoid this - so I have just Concussive Arrows and it does seem to work.

Basically using Cain Mines and gun for most damage and killing with the guy. The Concussive Arrows are armed and occasionally used to stun enemies that might be too close. This is some video showing different enemies and some waves where I felt I was doing best with the Cain Mines... and believe me, I am still learning how to get them "right" - but they're kind of fun. This is all Gold difficulty. The build is listed and linked below.

The first part of the video has TheMasses and I discussing the Talon Engineer and some of the how/why of my build. Another note is that it IS possible to do an over cover grab with this guy - at least on the PC. I was able to do it by holding down the melee key when I got the grab icon (instead of just tapping the key). Example of this in the video at about 24:15.

This video was just before the Balance Changes to the guy on Tuesday March 13th - I tried him out afterwards and the build still works quite well as it stands - in fact probably even better! You still probably have to skip an arrow power to avoid the "no ammo packs" bug on PC - so look at this as a mine-centric build with concussive stun arrows still. Would be interesting to see or try a mine-centric AP Arrows build too perhaps :-) (boss killer?)

Cain: Radius, Armor Damage, Damage (Radius is also decent here / preference)
Concussive Arrow: Capacity, Chill, Capacity
AP Arrow: 0 (to avoid bug)
Elite: Power Damage, Power Damage, Weapon Damage (Charge Regen is also good here if using lighter weapons)
Fitness: Durability, Recharge, Expert

Weapon: Harrier, magazine upgrade, high-velocity barrel + Acolyte, ultralight materials, high caliber barrel (or Scorpion, ultralight, high caliber as alternative)

Gear: Warfighter

Equipment: Power Amp (or Cyclonic, Shield Power); Assault Rifle Rail (or Targeting)

Ammo: Disruptor, AP, Incendiary, Cryo (all work - probably this order of preference though)

I've also kind of taken to using the Blood Pack Punisher (with stability and heat sink) + the Executioner Pistol (pierce and damage mods) with him instead for better recharge speed. I switch to Grenade Capacity gear with this set up.
