Mass Effect 3 - Omega: The Reactor
Hello Ghouls, Ghosts and Themlins,
This video contains all cut scene footage, important or relevant information, intermittent and post mission comments for the Omega DLC. This is the third of four installments. The missions covered in this video are: Omega: Aria T'loak, Omega: Assist Harrot and the conclusion of Omega: Assist The Hacker and Omega: Assist The Mechanic. We decided to do the renegade route for a majority of this DLC as we couldn't pass up the sweet reward Aria gives you if you play nearly full renegade. Stay tuned to the next few videos to see what she has in store for us!

After reviewing the Omega schematics, our team observes the various dark areas throughout Omega where the power is completely shut off in order to power the red forcefields all across the station. Our FemShep and Aria come up with a plan to infiltrate the enemy border by going through the mines all the way to the reactor that's powering all the forcefields and deactivate it. Nyreen decides to tag along for this mission as her main priority is rescuing as many civilians as possible.
Before leaving the area, we can talk to the Elcor, Harrot to get a quest to find Aria's couch, which General Petrovsky had removed from Afterlife. We can also return to both the hacker and the mechanic to finish off their side quests. Nyreen also pulls us aside to emphasize her desire to ensure the civilians of Omega have a voice in this fight. Something which Aria clearly cares nothing about. We now leave for the tunnels to the mines.
Entering the completely powered down area, we stumble across a long hallway that is littered with dead Cerberus troops who have been torn asunder. Nyreen immediately knows what is going on. This is the work of an Adjutant! Navigating further down the dark hallway, we hear a low growling noise and catch a brief glimpse of some type of creature hidden within the piping systems above us. Nyreen is taken aback by this and remains on edge.
We find the elevator that will take us to the mines but it's powered down. We must find an access panel that will power the door. Climbing onto the pipes, we can follow it to find the console we need. We finally find the console and turn the power on when suddenly an Adjutant crashes into the room through a window! Nyreen freezes in the face of her fear. After taking down the Adjutant, we exit the room to return to the elevator when we are attacked by even more Adjutants!
After dispatching the last Adjutants, we enter the unlocked elevator and reach the mines. There are plenty of Cerberus troops and Rampart Mechs to keep you busy here. Once they're dealt with, we head on over to door labeled "Maintenance Area." After going up and down a few ladders, we arrive at a lift that will take us to an area with a combat engineer who has their back turned to us. After taking care of the engineer, we can head down a ladder to continue on to the elevator. We recommend a manual save before going any further.
After crossing a dangerously unstable path, we have finally arrived at the elevator that will take us to the reactor. As we approach the area, we are suddenly entrapped by a forcefield! General Petrovsky lured us into a trap! Aria refuses to be beaten and decides to try to force the barrier open with her bare hands! Nyreen and our FemShep must now survive an onslaught of Rampart Mechs while Aria continues to try to open the forcefield. After gunning a few mechs down, Aria begins to lose her grip on the barrier so Nyreen jumps in to supplement Aria with her biotic power. It's just enough for our FemShep to jump through unharmed!
Alone, we must fend off Rampart Mechs and Cerberus troops while trying to find the reactor controls. Rushing into the reactor control room, our FemShep immediately gets to work on trying to power the reactor down but is interrupted by General Petrovsky alerting us to the precarious situation we are now in; this reactor is powering the life support systems across various areas of Omega. Shutting it down will kill thousands of civilians! We can either reroute the power to spare the civilians, leaving Nyreen and Aria to fend for themselves, or shut it down and kill all of them. We must now make a difficult choice in how we should proceed with the reactor. Stay tuned to see what happens next!
Thanks for watching and stay creepy!
