The dark side of exploration (i.e. conquest and colonialism) is not completely absent from Mass Effect: Andromeda, but the Pathfinder's grand adventures in foreign galaxies aren't problematized to any significant degree. Indeed, most characters who are not excited about the sudden arrival of Milky Wayers are depicted as power-hungry xenophobic demagogues more interested in the internal politics of their own species than any legitimate concern about external interventions.
