We start a new chapter involving bigger ships, better weapons and new enemies. The battles grow increasingly more intense as you progress and the different color barrages of lights get brighter and deadlier as well, but the new weapons handle business like the railgun and homing missiles. We end up fighting a massive ship at the end and a new flood type enemy as well. Who knows what were gonna find out here next. Maybe the Normandy? The game releases JUNE 21st on PC VR. Antiprism brings classic shoot 'em up mechanics to VR and combines them with innovative single-player twin-ship gameplay.
Backstory
After finishing development on Copperbell in the summer of 2019, the studio wanted to try something new and started dabbling with virtual reality. We began by prototyping a weird rhythm game based on matching geometric shapes codenamed “Cheeky Bricks”. An influx of VR music game announcements made us give up on that prototype and head yet again to uncharted waters. We took inspiration from classic shmup games and decided to create a similar experience in VR, using the platform’s unique controls to enable playing with two separate ships at the same time.
