This tale is one of my own for a change! Transcribed below:

The tournament had gone on for some days now, drawing crowds and warriors from all corners of the Raktine Confederacy to the city of Gyorok. A grand arena, constructed in a day by Maxim Kuznets, God of the Forge, to seek the first of his champions that his fractured homeland may be unified under one banner and push back against both the would-be invaders on all sides and the dangerous hedge mages within her borders.

Today was the final day, the deciding bout for command of Gyorok’s smiths and their knight-protectors. The contestants had shown their ability in combat, their ability to lead and think for themselves, and given some measure of who they were as people to The Smith, but before the winner could be announced a great flame sprung up from the town hall, immolating the local government. A fiery beast, enormous in size with rage as hot as its flames, burst forth and moved to attack. The fledgling pantheon struggled to fight back against the beast; Jayden’s healing magic was of little use here, Aleksandr knew little of combat but raw strength, and the god of Necromancy they had traveled with for some time had disappeared not long after their arrival in the Confederacy.
Maxim laid the first blow to the beast, but though its fires could not wound one so close in kind to the embers of the forge his hammer likewise did little to affect the self-sustaining blaze. As the others fought, he turned his mind towards other solutions to their problem. Ever the inventive man, Maxim thought upon his powers, upon his ability to shape materials as he wished… And came upon a fitting solution.

As soon as the opportunity showed itself, Maxim struck his hammer to the ground. A mighty CLANG rang out, echoing through the entire city as the ground beneath the conflagration crumbled, shifted, and a pool of water appeared in its place. As fire met water there was a great hiss of steam, a wave of hot water as the blaze was doused, and all was brought silent as quickly as the fight had begun.

A pool of water, some 50 feet across, now lay in the middle of the arena. Maxim raised his hammer to the sky to declare victory and a cheer rang out in his name, for he had struck a great blow to the local hedge mages with his act. The pool now stands, maintained and decorated as a shrine in honor of the Smith, the arena having slowly been converted into a temple in his honor; a grand smithy where his priests kept hard at work and his knight-protectors held training amongst their peaceful brethren, such was the way of The Smith.
