In today's crap shoot wednesday, I talk about McDonalds losing a trademark battle to Ireland's SuperMan over the word "mac".
(edit: This video is mainly about SuperMac's use of the word "mac" and how Mcdonalds has been using Mac for its menu items. Sorry for the confusion)

Supermac is a burger restaurant in Ireland who is probably known for making one thing: a burger. Supermac had ideas of expanding their restaurant into europe, but guess who had to step in and take a problem with the word Mac? Mickie D themselves. McDonalds is not okay with competition, so they tried to file a trademark for the word "mac". At first it seemed like McDonald's would easily win against a small company, but because Ireland is in the EU, and intellectual property propection is not that secure, McDonald's were unsuccessful in filing the trademark. What this means is that SuperMac can now use the word mac in either new products, and/or in advertisements when they try to expand into the UK.
