This group is the home of Zenkei Senpai's Virtual Reality Sangha that gathers weekly on VRChat. Come here for the official schedule, live events, recordings...

Victorious buddhas, compassionate ones, throughout the infinite worlds of
the ten directions,
Grant your blessings so that the inner and outer work that I accomplish today
Bears the fruits that multiply beyond imagining and extend to the very limits
of this existence
To benefit myself, the ones I love and the countless other beings of the six
realms

To start with the obvious, try to be on time. If you can arrive 15 to 30 minutes
in advance, that’s even better as it will give us enough time to invite you to the
proper world and you will also have some time to socialize with other
members before it begins. 2 to 5 minutes before the sessions, everybody
should form a proper queue in front of the main building and make an effort
to remember the person right before them (you will exit the room in the same
order at the end of the session). When you hear the sound of the Han Gong,
at the agreed upon time, it is the time to enter the building.

The Teacher will go in first and bow two times as he enters: the first time at
the entrance to pay his respects because our meditation room is considered a
sacred shrine. In fact, at this stage the teacher is thanking the developer that
created this world, the editors of VRChat, the inventors of virtual reality and
computers and so on. The second time, the teacher bows in front of his own
seat to pay homage to the Buddha and to be inspired by him. He will then
stand facing the assembly, next to his cushion while he waits for other
participants to regain their place. The following person may then enter and
should also bow at the entrance and in front of the teacher’s seat before
walking to his or her cushion, and so on. Once everybody is standing next to
their cushion, the teacher bows and sits after which the participants can also
bow and sit.

Note: If you are using a PC and wondering how you will make your character
bow, think no more! A 1 or 2 seconds pause at strategic locations will inform
us of your good intentions.

Each assembly begins with the recitation of the Aspiration that participants
should try and learn by heart.
When the assembly is in session, we ask that you remain seated silently. If you
are in a noisy environment, please consider muting your microphone.
Likewise, if you have a technical problem that is causing inconvenience to
others, you should think about leaving the room until it is resolved. If you get
bored to the point that you need to stretch your virtual legs, exit the room as
you would at the end of a session, doing your three bows discretely and
respectfully. If you chat with friends outside, please keep a good distance with
the meditation room so that practitioners cannot hear you. If you have an
emergency, simply beam out of the world, we understand.
During meditation, you will hear the sound of a bell. It will sound two times to
mark the beginning of the Samatha meditation phase and then once again for
Tonglen and Vispassana. After that the bell will sound two more times to mark
the end of the session.

Questions can usually be asked during the group’s discussion after a teaching
session. If you have a question, simply raise your avatar’s hand (learn how to
do this gesture) and the teacher will designate you when it is your turn to
speak. To respect the schedule, we usually have time for no more than 3 to 5
questions. Consider a private session with the teacher if you have something
personal to ask or if you feel that your answer cannot wait. You can easily
contact the teacher in the VR Sangha group.
In Buddhism, the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha are considered places of refuge
where you can find the peace needed to gather your strength and compose
yourself. The Buddha represents the enlightened master, the Dharma the
truth of this world and the Sangha, an assembly of spiritual friends not unlike
this one. They are also known as the three precious jewels.
We ask that you address every other member with respect and courtesy. Not
only this, we ask that members of this Sangha refrain from trolling and crashing
other people’s party. According to Japanese tradition, everybody here is a
Senpai (or senior) and carries the responsibility of a Hontai (or junior).
Hierarchy is determined by how long you have been part of this Sangha.
Although this is not enforced, juniors are encouraged to address their seniors
by adding the suffixes -senpai, -san or -sama to their names. Seniors may in
turn address their juniors by adding the suffix -kun. Juniors should respect and
serve their elders whenever possible.
Buddhist celebrations
throughout the year, intensive trainings and real-life retreats. maps hopping to discover the most beautiful shrines and temples of
VR Chat. The last Friday of every month is Dharma movie night where we can
all watch thoughtful and meaningful cinema pieces together.
