Meet Katie Golde! - Mattress Clarity's Managing Editor
6Katie is the Managing Editor of Mattress Clarity. She has her hands in almost all the content that you’ll see on the site.
In terms of reviews, she tackles a lot of pillows as well as sheets and some mattresses. You’ll see her in:

You’ll also see Katie’s name attributed to many posts on Mattress Clarity’s Blog and News sub-sites. She has a bachelors degree in sociology from Northwestern and a masters degree in Journalism from Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism. There, she focused on health and science writing and interactive publishing. In addition, she freelance wrote for other publications outside of school (gotta get that book money!).
Prior to graduate school, Katie worked for several non-profits and freelanced for a variety of publications. She has been a freelance writer for more than 8 years. You’ll see her work in print and online publications including Discover Magazine, USA Today, Bustle, and The Huffington Post.
Katie has been on the Mattress Clarity team as an expert reviewer, writer, and editor since the fall of 2016. She enjoys splitting her time between reviewing pillows, sheets, mattress protectors, and other products for the site and writing and editing sleep and sleep health content.
Katie’s passion for all things sleep stems from a background in general health and wellness writing. She is very interested in how sleep affects all aspects of our health, from diet and exercise to mental health and sleep’s impact on relationships and family dynamics.
One project Katie is especially excited about is Mattress Clarity’s Expert Network. This growing community of health professionals works with Katie and other members of the Mattress Clarity team to ensure that all of the content on our site is backed by research (and personal experience, of course).
She lives just outside Austin with her family. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outside, checking out new restaurants, reading, and occasionally hopping on a spin bike and breaking a sweat. Her sweet tooth knows no bounds!
