Mega-Lo-Mania is a God Simulation like no other. It's madcap mayhem a-go-go as men from all walks of historical life fight each other to control a planet. With crazy speech provided by professional actors, Mega-Lo-Mania is a feast of far-out fun for anyone!

STAGE SPECIFIC NOTES:

Very Important Part - first island shows how to build a bunker. You must build a bunker during your game to unlock last Epoch called Mega lo Mania. You may build a bunker any Epoch and any island you wish. Only one bunker required. But if you don't build a bunker you lose.

GAMEPLAY:

Mega lo Mania is a strategy game focused on resource gathering and weapons research.

Each Epoch gives you 100 men. Any left overs will be carried over to the next epoch. It is required that you save up some population for later levels as enemies start to build up quicker.

Time manipulation is the most important part of the game. Player may speed up time for faster research, faster population growth and faster resource gathering. Time manipulation is global and affects AI as well.

There are 3 types of inventions available for research: repair (shield), defense weapons and offense weapons.

Defense weapons may be placed in slots above buildings up to maximum of 10. However, it is not recommended to build defensive weapons at all as AI will constantly harass and destroy these weapons. It all changes later when you play isolated islands with nuclear weapons as it becomes the only means to protect yourself against these kinds of weapons.

Offensive weapons are used to damage enemy buildings. Unarmed men may fight and destroy these weapons but unarmed men are unable to inflict any damage to buildings. As the game progresses it takes a lot more unarmed men to destroy a single armed unit.

Each new stage AI starts by exploring the land and building new bases. Its best not to interfere as AI does very little to no research during this phase. Do not block AI in a corner when selecting your initial sector. Cornered AIs research quicker and attack more rapidly. You may ally yourself with an AI as allied AIs are not allowed to build new bases. That way you may significantly prolong exploration phase by making AIs fight each other early in the game.

Each sector has pre-set quantity of resources. Early game you gather resources and build weapons automatically by hand. Later levels you build mines and factories. You must assign workers to these factories in order to achieve production.

There's no noticeable difference between 4 playable characters other than their face and color.

Difference between Sega Genesis / Mega Drive version and Super Nintendo (SNES) version:

Gameplay mechanics are exactly the same. Each level is exactly the same in both versions right down to quantity of resources available in each sector. In short both consoles have exact same game but Super Nintendo version looks better, has better sound and convenient menus.

The only other slight difference I noticed - SNES version supports 3-way alliance but Sega Genesis version doesn't.

SUPER IMPORTANT PART:

You must build a bunker in order to play final Epoch Mega lo Mania. You will not be able to complete the game if you miss that part. You may build a bunker any epoch, any island and it will be stored in your password. This walkthrough shows how to build a bunker on the first island Epoch 9. You may find this video here:
