From one TheHueyFreeman, on his Pacifist run of this same stage:

"The flying section isn't annoying as much as the mini-boss is. With seemingly an infinite amount of enemies spawning around you and no E-tanks, you have to kill him as soon as possible before your life runs out. *Sigh*, if someone finds a way to do it without killing ANY enemies... they have my respect."

Having run both MM8 and Super R-Type into the ground, I figured this was a perfect boredom alleviator, as I could see how much my MM8 speed running ability had rusted (a little) and test my new shooter skills (SRT is a rather cruel shoot-'em-up that was one of the first SNES releases back in '91, if you're so young as to not have heard of it). This took less than an hour if you only count running Tengu's stage. It wasn't that bad once I figured out the miniboss, the entire problem with a pacifist run of this stage, is weak to the Mega Ball. It's just a question of getting there with enough energy to sustain the hits from the Tellys and not breaking open any stray capsules (if you get a helper power-up, you're bound to kill something else, breaking the rules of a Peacekeeper run in this case since the other enemies aren't miniboss minions... or at least that's the assumption Huey was working under).

If you're a fan of this channel, then you know what I tend to do nowadays when I have a way to shut the in-game music off. Mega Man Anniversary Collection just happens to have individual Music and SFX volumes, so I made use of the former, given this wasn't a serious video anyway.

NOTES:

- I don't know how to dodge the two flying whales at the end of the first flying part. I don't really care either, since I won't die anyway. Still, apologies for going through that entire section unscathed just to get rammed at the very end, since it makes that part look bad. :\

- The flying capsules only do one damage, while the birds do considerably more. I might've been able to avoid the first capsule hit by going around, but again, no reason to care; one point of 40 HP doesn't matter *that* much. :\

- On the second capsule hit, the birds can fire on you before you can get back to the capsule, which can make the rest of the stage that much harder. This is random, and in this video, didn't happen.

- I got lucky to not get hit at all after using the capsule to evade the birds at the beginning. I mean *real lucky*; that whole inner section up to the miniboss looks like a TAS to me... and I did it on my PS2, unassisted! O_O

- I forgot that gap after the large energy had a platform in it since I always use a Mega Ball to hop it regardless.

- I was too rusty on Tengu Man himself, so while I won, it took way too long and looked awful. Better to fade out early and retain my dignity.

Besides, there's nothing pacifist about a robot master fight.

You can visit TheHueyFreeman's channel for pacifist runs of all classic Mega Man games, even Wily Tower:

The video that inspired this nonsense (may be slow to load):

Music used in this video:

Super R-Type - Stage 04: A Submerging Titan
Super R-Type - Stage 06: R-Dance
Mega Man 8 - Tengu Man (Sega Saturn version)

On a trivia(l) note, I was listening to the first two songs during this playthrough, so up until the miniboss, you're hearing what I was hearing. :P

As always, a no music version can be provided on request, provided it hasn't been a year or two and at some point I cleaned out my video archive. I think I lost some of my channel's earliest movies during a purge at some point, so I wanna be clear that there may be a reasonable time limit on such a request.
