After beating all 8 of the game's Robot Masters, like usual, you get another teleporter that takes you straight to Dr. Wily, himself.

This 9th contraption is a giant T-Rex machine with a horned skullface. You can't attack it directly. Instead, you have to watch the eggs its spits at you and time your shots right to bounce those eggs right back at its face.

And that's just the 1st phase. The 2nd phase exposes Wily as the dino machine uses new moves. Such as an arc fire, ramming itself towards you, or body slamming you. This phase is mainly weak against the Concrete Shot, but I didn't know that too much, so I use several other weapons first before sticking with that one to finish the machine off.

Then afterward, the 3rd phase, which has Wily using his latest capsule ship on you with red electric attacks and purple homing attacks. This form is weak against the Plug Ball the most, but I stuck with the Hornet Chaser instead since it was easier to hit him with. Just keep at it, and try not to get hit too much like I did, here, and you'll bring Wily to his knees for (at least) the 9th time!
----------

(Hmmm... I see Bass at 5:40...)

After Wily pleads for mercy again, Mega Man has enough of his lies and uses Rush to show him his past mistakes.

He reminded Wily of the time he was beaten by him in the first game...

and then the second game...

and the third game...

and the fourth game...

the fifth game...

the sixth game...

the seventh game...

the eighth game...

and even 8.5th game called Mega Man & Bass!

Wily was then forced to tell Mega Man another truth: He had Dr. Light all along, and showed him to the cage he was locked in. The Light that was arrested was just a setup ran by a fake police robot that Wily made.

Mega Man was in a hurry to take back Light since he got sick and needed a hospital, but suddenly, Mega Man's predecessor and older brother, the aloof Proto Man, appeared to warn Mega Man that this was actually a trap, and that the Dr. Light in that cage was the actually setup robot that Wily was talking about.

Proto Man mocked his brother's ignorance of still believing that that was the real Dr. Light, so he left him to try and grab him. Predictably, that Light was definitely fake, and zapped Mega Man into unconsciousness, allowing Wily to make his next great escape and leave Mega Man to perish from his now-collapsing lair.

Thankfully, although Wily got away YET AGAIN, Proto Man comes back to save his brother, and later on, the real Dr. Light was released from jail, having now proved his innocence amongst Wily's latest crimes.
----------

During the credits, Mega Man and his family were able to enjoy a new time of peace. It also shows that this game's Robot Masters, which were originally created by Dr. Light, have survived their fights against Mega Man and are now living more satisfying lives with their original creator:

- Jewel Man shows one of his latest treasures to Roll (if you made her switch to her Mega Man 8 outfit, you'll see that here, too.)
- Magma Man helps Dr. Light relax from his jailtime by heating up his hot tub barrel.
- Hornet Man continues his gardening duties, with Beat enjoying his presence and the flowers. Birds AND bees, people!
- Splash Woman... ooooh, Splash Woman. She takes up modeling, and Auto is her photographer!
- Plug Man went shopping with Rush, likely for more electric appliances like he enjoys.
- Galaxy Man enjoys the sunset in the sky, with Proto Man seeing him off.
- Concrete Man actually managed to find Wily and chase after him.
- Lastly, Mega Man and Tornado Man watch the sky together, looking forward to a new future of everlasting peace.
----------

Saving you data after beating this game resets it back to the beginning. From there you can keep going for more achievements or do something else.

Thanks for watching this playthrough. I plan to start Mega Man 10 very soon, and like this game, it will also be played from the Switch version of Mega Man Legacy Collection 2. So stay tuned!
