"Mega Man: The Wily Wars," released in 1994, is a video game compilation developed by Minakuchi Engineering and published by Capcom exclusively for the Sega Genesis. It revives the classic experiences of the first three iconic Mega Man games, delivering enhanced graphics, sound, and gameplay. Alongside these nostalgic remakes, the compilation introduces "Wily Tower," an entirely new game that is only accessible once a save file containing completed progress is achieved. This is the first "Mega Man" game from the compilation.

In terms of gameplay, players control Mega Man as they navigate a series of platform-based stages. The order in which these stages are completed is entirely up to the player. Each stage concludes with a climactic battle against a Robot Master, from whom Mega Man acquires a unique weapon for use throughout the game. In addition, support items assist in reaching otherwise inaccessible areas.

"The Wily Wars" not only enhances the visuals and introduces remastered music but also provides a game-changing feature: battery backup for each game. Each boss draws inspiration from iconic characters such as Sun Wukong and Zhu Bajie. To triumph over these adversaries, the player must equip Mega Man with eight weapons and three support items from any of the three main games.
