Mega Man VII [SNES] Playthrough #12, Shade Man
This is video #12 in my playthrough of Mega Man VII. Mega Man goes through the final stage available, the spooky Shade Man stage. Inspired perhaps by Castlevania?
This stage features zombie robots and Mega Man II's Bubble Bats.
Midway through the stage, Mega Man will encounter the pumpkin miniboss (time index 2:07). How he defeats this miniboss determines how he will progress through the rest of the stage. To take the upper route, which leads to the Energy Balancer, he has to kill the outer shell. To take the lower route, which leads to Proto Man, he must take the inner shell. On this occasion, he kills the outer shell to take the upper route.
On the upper level, notice that the lancer robots will transform to werewolves in the full moon. Spooky!
When Mega Man reaches the spooktacular portrait of Dr. Wily (time index 4:31), he can use the Rush Search to acquire the Energy Balancer. If you have a non-chargeable weapon equipped or your current weapon is full of energy , the Energy Balancer will transfer the energy to the weapon with the lowest charge.
Down below, Mega Man will run into Bass and Treble (time index 5:44). Poor Bass looks a bit beaten up. Mega Man invites him to Dr. Light's lab to get fixed up. Why do I have a bad feeling about this?
At the end of the stage (time index 6:27), Mega Man will encounter Count Dracula ... er, Shade Man. This robot master will fly in the air, swoop down, and try to grab Mega Man to drain his energy. The energy that he drains replenishes him, so slide out of the way! On the ground, Shade Man will deploy spooky white energy that will briefly paralyze Mega Man before Shade Man deploys his Noise Crush. The charged Noise Crush is pretty damaging, but the most annoying part of the battle is getting energy drained. The Wild Coil is Shade Man's weakness.
After defeating him, Mega Man earns the Noise Crush weapon.
Afterwards, Mega Man will return home to find the lab in disarray (time index 8:17). I knew it was a bad idea to be nice to Bass and Treble. Mega Man vows to make Wily pay.
Thanks for watching!
