So first off, X, love the new look. Now as for the game itself, it plays like a traditional Turn Based RPG. You've got items, you use Sub Tanks to heal, and you have a Hyper Mode which lasts for a couple turns and gives you a boost in stats.

Now, for the story. X, Zero, and new character Shadow are sent on a mission to infiltrate Giga City in order to stop a rebellion led by a reploid named Epsilon. Axl is just off doing his own thing right now. After arriving at a bunch of ruins, X is separated from the others and must regroup at a higher floor.

On the way up, the groups find capsules that contained 12 different reploids all suited for combat. 4 high performance ones, and 8 combat ones. The typical Mega Man lineup. X and Zero manage to meet up and deal with a hippo that appears from out of nowhere, and then meet with Shadow up top. Little do we realize that this was all a trap. __
