I didn't want to put this video and the previous one together, but that doesn't mean I'd go and cheat you out of your much-deserved closure by uploading it the next day.

That said, Mega Man X isn't QUITE done yet. I have a couple of supplementary video segments I've put together for your enjoyment, and then I think I've worked this game out of my system... for now. It's one of my favorite SNES action titles, and it'll always creep back up on me again later, looking for another bite.

---

Remember back in the days when games actually had "cast" lists? I always find it neat that they give proper credit where it's due to the bit players, even if it's in name only. I'm also a little unsure as to the reasons for certain enemies being credited on certain stages over other possibilities, but suffice to say that they only get to be billed once each.

If there's a gap between groups of enemies, the brief space indicates that the remaining entries are sub-bosses of the stage, although I've already identified them as significant enemies within the relevant stage videos, so they shouldn't be of any surprise.

The "Sigma Stage" entry, lacking any new regular enemies to introduce of its own accord will name just the unique bosses contained therein.

Lastly, we get to reflect upon the ghostly figures of all the bosses we took down, plus reflect upon our fallen comrade, Zero. *sniff* Don't worry, though... anybody who's even remotely familiar with Capcom and Mega Man likely knows that we don't need to worry about him staying out of the spotlight for long...

Incidentally, the cast list is just shy of completion, failing to note at least a few enemies. To my immediate recollection, it doesn't list the following enemies:

-Rush Roader, the little mono-wheel enemies with the jet propulsion and a pair of protruding spikes in front.
-Ray Trap, the invulnerable laser cannons that are activated to fire at him in unison when X trips one of the motion-sensors in the vicinity.

(If you can think of any more, feel free to let me know!)

Oh, and even more telling of one's relative age, do you remember the crazy game credits sequences with bizarre little nicknames and monikers for all the staff? It's definitely a very interesting mark to leave on a game, and one I appreciate even more than say the joke credits to Castlevania. It does make it harder to trace a game's production pedigree in a world where people have real names, but this is amusing enough that I don't mind.

---

Wait, wait... what? Ah! The creepy music is back, and--Ack! That face! No! Sigma!

Well, if you needed the post-credits stinger to know that there'd be more Mega Man X games and that Sigma would be a recurring antagonist, I suppose you should exchange that rock you've been living under for a newer model with a door or some manner of easy access so that you can come up for air once in awhile.

Still, as games of its era go, particularly action games of limited emphasis on storytelling, this was fairly effective at the time. In the SNES version, the screen will remain like this with Sigma's face, parting words, and background music remaining as they are until you powered off the system. Brr, how's that for more creepiness?

In this version, the Mega Man X Collection offers to save your game, not least of the reasons for that being so that it can check Mega Man X off your list of games not yet completed and start providing you some goodies as appropriate rewards.
