Welcome to my nightmare. Here we have the closest thing X4 has to a difficult stage and difficult boss combo. The stage has two main pinpoint areas of difficulty, and that's the two spiral staircases. Painfully specific jumps over shield enemies isn't a fun combo when it's paired with those flying enemies, who seem to come out of nowhere. They also make the section before the vertical climb a pain. The other one is a bit more consistent, but damn do those spike enemies kill you. Not really helped by the fact that a fucking spikewall is chasing you all the while. The last section before the boss isn't much to discuss, but the boss is painfully specific. What you see is a very fast Split Mushroom fight, but it's also a fight that requires some seriously precise movement. See you next time for Slash Beast, which will certainly be an experience.
